DAY 1 We set off this morning and, with a comfort stop en route, make our way to Warwick with time to enjoy lunch and explore this historic town. We then continue the short journey to our hotel, with time to settle in before dinner, followed by this evening’s top-class entertainment. Thoresby Hall is a magnificent Grade I listed stately house set in rolling parklands on the edge of Sherwood Forest. This luxurious 4* hotel boasts brilliant indoor leisure facilities, such as heated pool, bubble pool, Scandinavian sauna, aroma cave steam room, library, table tennis, snooker and arts & crafts shops. There are also a variety of outdoor activities on offer, as well as a modern entertainment lounge hosting daily live shows, quizzes, classes and entertainment.
DAY 2 Join us this morning, if you wish, for an excursion to the nearby historic city of Lincoln, with time at leisure to explore. You may wish to head to the cathedral, visit the castle and see the Magna Carta, or browse the modern shops which line the river. This afternoon is free for you to explore the hotel’s facilities such as the steam room and swimming pool or play a game of snooker, take a stroll in the grounds, or just find a quiet corner to snuggle down and relax with a good book before dinner and excellent entertainment this evening.
DAY 3 After breakfast this morning we head to Clumber Park, just a short drive from the hotel. Carved out of the ancient forest of Sherwood, Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods. For over three centuries, Clumber Park was the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was taken down in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore. We return to our resort with the remainder of the afternoon free to make use of the facilities or relax before dinner and another evening of top-class entertainment.
DAY 4 This morning we make our way to the vibrant city of Nottingham, with its Castle, and a magnificent museum and art gallery housing collections of silver, glass, and paintings, with spectacular views across the city. We return to our hotel with the remainder of the day free to spend as you please before our final evening meal.
DAY 5 After breakfast, we leave our hotel and make our way to Stratford-upon-Avon for a chance to explore and have lunch before we complete our journey home.
