DAY 1 We set off this morning for the Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli, where we will enjoy refreshments on arrival. On the way, we visit the Brecon Mountain Railway for a return journey through the beautiful Brecon scenery, taking in Pontsticill and the Taf Fechan Reservoir before climbing to Torpantau high in the Brecon Beacons. We then rejoin the coach to continue our journey, reaching the hotel with time to settle in before our evening meal.
DAY 2 Experience the sheer beauty of the Gower today starting with a visit to the Gower Heritage Centre, a countryside crafts centre situated in historical and beautiful surroundings which offers crafts, a 12th century water powered corn and saw mill, and a rural life museum. During your visit we will also enjoy a guided tour of the mill and a coach guided highlights tour of the stunning Gower Peninsula. This afternoon we return to our hotel via the picturesque Victorian seaside village of Mumbles, located in Swansea Bay.
DAY 3 Today we spend a day at leisure in the fantastic seaside town of Tenby. You may wish to discover Tenby’s glorious beaches and sit on the soft golden sand, or perhaps refuel at one of the many restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby. If you wish to venture slightly further afield, then you could take a trip to the holy island of Caldey Island. Just 20 minutes away by boat, this island is an oasis of calm which is owned and run by a community of Cistercian monks. Regular boats set off from Tenby Harbour to Priory Beach, a beautiful starting place for exploring the island. We then head back to Llanelli for our evening meal at the hotel.
DAY 4 This morning we head to the heritage Gwili Railway in Carmarthen for a scenic ride through the beautiful South Wales countryside, a trip on the miniature railway and visits to the museum and signal box. We then head to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, which has been voted ‘No 1 garden to visit in Wales’ by BBC Gardeners’ World, with its stunning range of themed gardens and the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, plus it’s also home to the British Bird of Prey Centre.
DAY 5 We set off after breakfast this morning, making our way homewards. En route we will make a stop to allow you to enjoy a leisurely lunch before we complete our homeward journey.
